What the current sources confirm

The DragonSword: Awakening Steam page lists Online Co-op among the released game’s features. That supports the narrow statement that the Steam product includes online cooperative play. It does not, by itself, specify a party-size limit, local co-op, cross-play, invite flow, matchmaking rules, unlock chapter, supported activities, or whether every story and exploration surface is shared. Those operational details remain not yet verified on this page as of July 29, 2026.

Players deciding whether to buy specifically for a friend group should treat the feature flag as a starting point, not a complete mode manual. Check the live build for the exact activity, progression requirement, and group capacity before coordinating a session. This guide will not infer those details from screenshots, demo recollections, or other games. When a direct source or documented build review establishes them, each answer can be added with a version and checked date.

Hunt and Raid multiplayer are announced

Hound13’s official post-launch roadmap says multiplayer is planned for Hunt and Raid. The roadmap wording is a forward-looking announcement, so this guide does not describe those updates as released. A roadmap item can change in timing or scope, and the checked announcement does not give this page license to invent a launch window. Readers should consult a current official patch note before treating Hunt or Raid multiplayer as live.

The same roadmap discusses small-group exploration around towns and the world as a longer-term research-and-development consideration rather than a committed feature. It also says trading and player-run shops are not planned. These statuses should not be flattened into one “multiplayer roadmap” label: Online Co-op is listed on the released store page, Hunt and Raid multiplayer are announced, broader shared exploration is under consideration, and trading systems are described as not planned.

Questions to verify before a co-op session

Confirm the current patch, the exact selectable mode, when multiplayer becomes accessible, and how progress or rewards are handled for every participant. Check whether the host and guest need matching quest states and whether character availability differs. Party size must come from the interface or an explicit current source; it is intentionally absent here because no approved evidence in the registry supports a number.

Also keep demo behavior separate from the full game. A Next Fest build may have contained a different feature set, balance state, or network implementation, but this guide has no approved direct comparison that can turn those possibilities into facts. The demo-versus-full-game guide lists what still needs rechecking. For combat planning, the team-comps guide provides a status-chain worksheet without claiming that its hero selection or slot count matches every co-op activity.
